Our newly refurbished and expanded practice was to celebrate our milestone of more than 10 years of service in this area. Meet the Doctors and Hygienists

Dr Debbie Leong

Debbie graduated from the University of Queensland in 1986 and has been working relentlessly since. She opened Debbie Leong Dental in 1993 as a solo practice and has built it to the large team of dental professionals that exists today.

Debbie's enthusiasm and passion for dentistry is infectious. Her interest lies in cosmetic dentistry, undertaking much continuing education from Australian and international dental experts alike. Her natural talent to give you ‘the smile makeover' has earned her the reputation of being ‘an artist.' Treating her patients as part of her extended ‘dental' family, her greatest joy is seeing her patients' thrill with her completed work.

Her rapport with her patients stems from her genuine care and concern for their health and her excitement to see their confidence restored with a better smile.

She wishes to inspire others to offer their time, skill and effort to impact others less fortunate than themselves. She has undertaken numerous humanitarian dental trips to third world countries including Laos (Click here) and Kenya (Click here) and next on the agenda is Vanuatu, Thailand and Tibet. Her practice was opened for free dentistry to the underprivileged youth under the National Dental Foundation.

Debbie enjoys keeping fit with tennis, gym and bikram yoga. She has completed the Brisbane Half Marathon, the Gold Coast Marathon and plays tennis at a competitive level. She is happily married with 2 lovely daughters.

Dr Sean Low

Sean is a caring and dedicated dentist. His exceptional dental skills combined with his incredible up to date dental knowledge earned him a First Class Honours degree in Dental School, University of Queensland in 2003. Sean enjoys private practice but still maintains a mentoring program for final year dental students at the Logan Dental Hospital on a weekly basis.

Sean is a firm believer of continuing education i.e. we can keep improving our technique, skills and knowledge and keeping up with technology. He is a skillful operator and communicates well with his patients.

Outside dentistry he keeps his life busy with his charity work and keeps fit playing tennis, badminton and going to the gym.

Dr Megan Tucker

Megan is highly enthusiastic about dentistry and is very dedicated to her work. She prioritises patient education and knowledge and spends a great deal of time talking to her patients about their treatment needs. Megan herself has undergone a traumatic dental injury as a child, so appreciates how important it is to ensure each and every patient is made comfortable during their visits. She keeps the atmosphere light and enjoyable.

Megan, a graduate from Griffith University Dental School, takes great interest in continuing education. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association and various dental study groups. She enjoys keeping up to date with the latest developments in dentistry, and regularly attends conferences and seminars. Eventually, Megan would like to follow Debbie's lead and get involved in humanitarian work within disadvantaged communities.

She enjoys keeping active with gym classes, jet skiing and mountain biking. She also enjoys reading and can get lost in a good book for hours!

Dr Thyn Wong

Thyn is an invaluable member of our team, displaying a conscientious and optimistic approach that allows her to excel in everything she does. This is clearly illustrated in her successful background from being assigned school captain in her secondary education to achieving Honours in her dental qualifications at the prestigious University of Melbourne.

Thyn has a passion for dentistry because she believes it is a profession that facilitates fulfillment of her innate desire for attention to detail and also encompasses a board range of procedures.

When she's out of surgery, Thyn immerses herself in an active lifestyle of running, swimming and yoga with her fiance, reading cookbooks and exploring Brisbane - a city that has only become home to her in the past few months.

When she is settled, Thyn hopes to become involved in charities including the Cancel Research Council and the Leukaemia Foundation.

Rebecca Liedel

We are very privileged to have Rebecca Liedel as part of the team at Debbie Leong Dental. Rebecca works in the capacity of an oral health therapist, graduating from Griffith University where she swamped all of the awards including the University Medal for Dux of Oral Health Therapy and the Best Clinical Student Award.

Rebecca possesses an astounding work ethic, coupled with a humility and selflessness that renders her an excellent oral therapist. She enjoys her job and finds working with children both rewarding and fun. She places a strong emphasis on preventing dental disease through motivating and educating her patients. She works by the mantra that she is ‘here to help you achieve your healthiest smile.'

Rebecca keeps herself busy outside of work by spending time with family and friends, keeping healthy by running and taking the occasional trip to the theatre where her favourite show is the ballet.

Viola Laurel

Viola graduated from the Griffith University, Queensland in 2006 with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Oral Health Therapy. She has been working as our registered Dental Hygienist and Therapist ever since.

Viola plays a vital role in our team. She works with the dentists in helping you in maintaining and improving the health of your gums and teeth. With her expansive knowledge on the latest prevention methods she is able to give you individual advice and oral hygiene education. She also thoroughly cleans all surfaces of your teeth, including removing stains and applys fluoride to strengthen teeth.

As a fully trained dental therapist Viola treats most of our young patients. She is able to do any simple fillings, fissure sealants and removal of baby teeth if necessary. Viola has such a loving and caring nature that quickly puts patients at ease. Our patients love Viola's thoroughness and gentle approach, which means both adults and children leave with a happy and healthy smile.

Michelle Burnett

Michelle Graduated in 1991 as a Dental Therapist and have been in the dental industry for 18 years. She completed the Academic Upgrade in 2002, which provided qualifications in Dental Hygiene and Health Promotion. Like Viola, she is fully qualified Dental Hygienist/Therapist and work together in the important hygiene department of debbie leong dental.

She enjoys spending time with my husband and two small children at Caloundra, going to the beach I also enjoy going on holidays, camping, bike riding and fishing
